Italy Trip: Days 1-3 Paris

To celebrate Darren and I's 40th birthdays this year we planned an 18 Day trip to Italy.  It is hard to believe it came and went so fast.  18 Days is a long time to be away.....so much fun, and so lucky to spend some one on one time with the man I  love!

Delta Airlines offers a direct flight from Salt Lake City to Paris so we took full advantage of that and spent the first 3 days there....

Day #1:  Caught a Red Line Bus tour around the city.  It was the perfect way to familiarize ourselves with the city and to see the sights.  That was the only time we got up close and personal to the L'Arc de Triumphe and Eiffel Tower.

Amazing SELF CLEANING toilets you could find around town.  After each use the toilet gets cleaned and disinfected....hoping these will one day catch on in the U.S.

Day #2:  Treasure Hunt at the Louvre-- by far my favorite!

Daisy DePlume, grew up in New York with a mother who worked for the Metropolitan Museum.  To keep her busy her mother used to send her on scavenger hunts around the museum.  She has since relocated to Paris and started T.H.A.T.Lou (Treasure Hunts at the Louvre), I found her on TripAdvisor, and so glad that I did.  It was an "Amazing Race" sort of adventure.  All of the Louvre is in French...Daisy gave descriptions and details in English, gave us a booklet of hints and sent us on our way to locate our treasures!  She had many topics to choose from and if you chose to pose as some of the statues or pictures you got extra points.  It was the perfect way to tackle a museum so vast.

Seeing the Mona Lisa in person...

An all day adventure....what a blast!

Day #3:  Catacombs, Notre Dame, Shopping and an Opera

Loved Paris, and the people....they were all so polite and accommodating.  Hoping one day to go back!
