Freakazoid...

Is it..................
A) A spider bite
B) A staph infection
C) An allergic reaction to something I ate
OR
D) Who Cares.....Is it GONE?

I woke up on Tuesday with a painful little bump on my forehead. Thinking it was close to that time of the month, thought maybe it might have been an ingrown pimple. Waiting for it to come to a head-- Thursday night, thought I would attack. Nothing....or barely...but nothing came out of it! It did turn an odd sort of purplish color and was tender all around. I showed Darren a little concerned. And he told me....I should be fine, we'll check it in the morning....

Friday, 9:00am "Hey honey....do you think I look a little swollen?"

Darren says..."Yeah, you're a little swollen..." Me....."Should I go get it checked out?" Darren...."Yeah, we could go get you checked out..." Me....."There's not an appointment until 4:00, we'll go at 4:00"

Friday, at 2:00
Darren says..."Maybe I ought to go get you some Benedryl...would you like some Benedryl....? Me....."Okay..." (Friends that are present.....your names are safe with me...... Elmore's!) "Yeah....let's go get you some Benedryl....in fact Darren, we'll go get it. You stay here with Kim."

1/2 hr after their return.....Friday, 3:30

Darren and friends...."Wow, Kim....it's already working....it's only been 15 min, you already look much better..." Me...."Oh, really....I haven't been able to look in the mirror....so you think I'd be ok to miss that Dr's appt....? Darren and friend....."Oh yeah, you look great....You're going to be fine....You're not completely back to normal....but it's waaaaayyyy better than it was!"

Friday, at 5:00

Darren says...."Hey hon, when are you supposed to take that Benedryl again.....? And are you supposed to take one or two? Me....."It says you take one or two as needed...." Darren...."Oh, ok....I would take two...."

Friday, at 6:00

Darren says...."Um, hon....about how often does the box say you can take the Benedryl....? You should be about to take another one, right...? Me...."No, not until every 4 hrs. I shouldn't take anymore until about 7:30....? Darren....."are you sure....I thought you took it about 2:00, you should be able to take it again...." Me...."No....I didn't take the last ones until about 3:30...."

Friday, at 7:00 upon approaching a mirror....

Me....."So.....you don't think this calls for a visit to a Dr....?" Darren....."Yeah, maybe we better go....

"Okay, Dr. Darren." I'm in good hands. He does love me, I do have to say that I appreciate the calm in the storm.

and the appreciation does go a bit further....now that I am finally on the mend. Quarantining myself to my room was just plain no fun!

2 Twins, 2 Science Projects, 2 MORE Science Fairs to go...

Really??? The things you just don't think about when you are so excited to see those TWO healthy heartbeats on an ultrasound. Well...we survived. And unless by some unknown and UNJUST cause. I have 4 more projects to go...PHEW! I think we're going to make it ;).

Ayden colored for 4 hrs straight. Using Crayola, Roseart, and the OfficeMax brand markers, he colored page after page, line after line to find out just which marker would last the longest. And just to be sure-- he did it with the red, blue, AND green markers. Pay the higher price people! Crayola won. Crayola lasted 24 pages, Roseart 20 pages, and dear old OfficeMax a disappointing 4. Needless to say Ayden has no interest in "art" for a while. But his hypothesis was right. Everyone carries Crayola, so it must be the best.

Jaret felt a little wiser this go around, as he saw Ayden with his hand cramps, and tears in his eyes when mom kept telling him he couldn't stop until he was done. Jaret wanted to test which battery would last the longest. He set up shop in our cold storage with similar flashlights and turned them on all at the same time beginning Jan. 3rd. We used Energizer, Rayovac and Duracell batteries. Jaret thought that Duracell would last the longest because of its copper top. Boy were we wrong. If the test was which stayed the "brightest the longest" the results would be Energizer, Duracell, then Rayovac. Rayovac started to fade by day 4, Duracell by day 10 and Energizer by day 12. But we were testing which battery just "lasted the longest."
Crazy as it is... Rayovac lasted 30 days, Energizer lasted 25 days, and Duracell lasted 21. Go Rayovac! No one was in your corner in this house.

Now onto state reports....yes, two of them. Yay, me!
