For Darren's Christmas present this year I bought him tickets to see Donny and Marie. I have wanted to do that for a few years now, but something always came up. It was wwwaaayyy better anyway --because we were able to bring the kids and get the Kelly fam to come with us.
We packed up and headed out Thursday night at about 7:00, and stayed the night in St. George. We took our time the next morning, even took the kids to an aquatic center to swim. Then headed out for Vegas about 3:00. After our horrible dinner at the Flamingo buffet. We had a great time at Donny and Marie.
They sang all my favorite songs....Make the World Go Away, Paper Roses, Coat of Many Colors, Puppy Love, etc. and I even walked away with a few new favorites. They showed clips from the past, they were as adorable as I had imagined. The kids loved it.
The next day we had originally planned to go to the Price Is Right. Which I would totally love! And even had a few practice rounds online before we left. But we found discount tickets for the Blue Man Group that night. We love that show, and thought the kids would enjoy it as well-- so instead we spent the morning at the M&M Factory.
We watched a movie in 3D, all the kid's bought a souvenir...what else is there to do at the M&M Factory? That's it.............hard to believe we were there for the 2 1/2 hrs that we were.
Brooke and Robb have family out here, and Robb is down here with his job ALL the time, it was nice to go to all these YUMMY places to eat! Not sure if we'll ever be able to find our way to any of them by ourselves again, but we will try. Our new Vegas motto: NO MORE buffets, please.
Saturday night we were able to see the Blue Man Group. It was Darren and I's 3rd time, and we enjoy it every time! It is amazing how it is soooo much funnier watching it with your kids. When we got seated Darren was approached and asked if he had seen the show before, and when we said we had seen it 2 other times-- they had asked if he would like to participate. Our kids thought it was HILARIOUS! Darren was brought up, put in a white jumpsuit and helmut, painted blue, hung upside down, and swung by his feet up against a canvas. They then wheel him out with his head in a jello mold.
Ok, maybe they just wanted you to "think" they had done all of that to him...when in all reality after going backstage he just got stuffed into the jelly mold. It was fun to be involved. And made it definitely more memorable for the kids!
We were sad that another vay cay had come to an end. They are always soooo much fun, especially when the kids have such a good time with kids their own ages. Can't wait for our next adventure whenever that will be and wherever that will take us. Family vacations are always my favorite.
