Legacy Jr High's SBO 2nd Vice.....

This little boy ran for SBO office this year, and we had so much fun doing it!   Definitely brought back memories of my "glory days" in office :). We had bounced around a bunch of ideas, and finally decided on the #randombutawesome theme....it was a hit!

They did it a little different from when I was growing up.....primaries you were allowed 4 posters and a banner.  We printed off T-shirts and wore them a couple times during the week.  You don't run for a specific office, you run for a "class", or student body position.  There were 18 other people running for 4 spots.  Ayden passed the primaries, then was allowed 2 more posters and another banner.  He was then required to make a campaign video:

They showed the videos in all CTE, or US History classes and the students were required to log into their school accounts to vote.  They had a 62% voter turnout.

After it was all done Ayden had made it!  That day after announcing the winning four candidates, they get interviewed by last years officers and the student government teacher, Mr. Madsen.  That small committee decides which position each person should be.  You're looking at the new 2014-15 SBO 2nd Vice!  Good job, Ayden!

Dancing with the Falcette's...

Logan had met Tyler Dingman at the first of the year, and they became fast friends.  She had asked him if he would participate in her end of the year Falcette Review....

So entertaining, and so much fun he is having quite the high school experience....

Love this kid....what's there not to like!

Good Things Utah.....

Darren was asked to come visit as a guest Good Things Utah about a year ago, but didn't quite feel "ready".....after recording his commercials, and videos for our website, he got his nerves in check-- and finally called them back.  Two weeks later.....and we were scheduled to appear!

He talked about weight loss and we had brought one of our patients who has had much success...John Litanski.

He's lost a remarkable 72 pounds so far on Darren's weightless protocol.

The cast was cordial, and so down to earth, it was definitely "good times, at Good Things."  It will be a quarterly segment from here on out....we better get used to this!  :)

They're ordered.....

Can't stand it......my baby girl is graduating.....

Love this girl, more than she will ever, ever know.

Prom....

Logan's 2nd date was Clearfield High's Prom.  He asked Mary Flanagan by buying her a 2 liter of Mountain Dew that said "Dew you want to go to Prom".  Mary answered by decorating his room with a 2 liter of Sprite that said, "I would be "soda"- lighted.

I, of course was volunteered to do an Amazing Race day date......and they seemed to have a good time.

Team Blue: Trenton Moyes, Julia Bellon, Paighten Stewart, Mary Flanagan and Logan

Team Yellow:  Ryan Skidmore, Courtney Stuart, Austin Maes, Raquel Roskelly, and Josh Peterson

Clue #1:  A hunting you will go, a hunting you will go...
go into the back yard, and an EGG hunting you will go.

Both teams had to find 8 eggs in their team color, crack them open and unscramble the letters to find out where to go for their next clue.  It spelled out RC Willey.

Clue #2:  Rock-a-Bye baby....not on a treetop
The baby cribs at RC Willey will be your next stop.

(The clue was hidden in the bedding of one of the cribs.)

Clue #3:  Your next stop is where these four guys
Attended school for grades 3, 4, and 5
You will find your next task NOT inside the school
But where you hated to have your classroom on days that were really cool.

(McKennah and I were waiting at the Portables at Bluffridge where the had to roll dice for a costume.  They had to roll 3 out of 5 a number 1 for Bunny ears, 3 out of 5 a number 3 for sunglasses and 3 out of 5 a number 5 for some buck teeth. To obtain their next clue.)

Clue #4:  Wall Ball is fun, but that's not what you'll play.
Take these baskets and balls and be on your way.
3 people will catch, 2 people will throw,
Over the wall and into a basket they'll go.
If they are dropped, the throwers must find--
All the balls again, and try another time.

(We stayed at Bluffridge for this one, at the Wall Ball walls.  2 people through egg shaped balls over the wall and 3 people had to catch them, all 10 of them, in the baskets from the other side.)

Clue #5:   These balls were just a dollar, that's all that I had spent
Go and buy some sidewalk chalk from the same place that I went.

(the teams were required to go to All A Dollar and buy sidewalk chalk.)

Clue #6:  In your team color a balloon bouquet, at Smith's across the street.
Pop the balloons, spend your cash, on the items that you read.

(There were bouquets of 3 balloons each for each team.  One team was required to buy Vanilla Ice Cream, the other a 2 litre of Root Beer)

Clue #7:  Once you're done....head on home for your final task.
It might take quite a while so don't you worry if your in the last.

(Both teams were neck in neck the entire time, the entire race.  They arrived at my house and all had to try to compete to draw 3 continuous line pictures....and the first team to complete them.  Won!

They were down to the wire, neck and neck trying to figure out the last picture....when finally Trenton came through for the victory.  The Yellow team won!  Gift cards to Subway!

We then served them Root Beer Floats, and they stayed and played a ping pong tournament, then headed home to get ready for the dance.

Dinner was provided so kindly by Trenton's grandparents.  Brother and Sister Gailey.  The sweetest people on earth.  It was beautiful, and they were well fed.

The parents all showed up to take pics at the Gailey home.

Logan and Mary Flanagan

Ryan Skidmore and Courtney Stewart

Austin Maes, and Paighten Stewart

Josh Peterson and Raquel Roskelly

Trenton Moyes, and Julia Bellon

It's hard to see your son in a tux, I'm not gonna lie, and not let your mind wander to what the future holds.  Wishing I could turn back time.  Love this boy, his group of friends who let us be part of their lives.  Hopefully we at least have that for a couple more years.....

And son....thank you for always letting me kiss those cheeks....
